You may have seen some info about Delib’s comms strategy during the coronavirus crisis. If you missed it, see here.

In summary, Delib has a lot of knowledge to share regarding bringing participation processes online, which a lot of public bodies are having to contend with at the moment. This post rounds up all of these resources in one place.

On the 6th May, we shared some links on the topic of consultation feedback and reporting:

  • 1. ‘For best results, just do it’ – great article on closing the feedback loop. “[Feeding back] is a distinctive, fundamental sign of respect and a critical building block for establishing trust.”
  • 2. Guidance from Delib’s knowledge base on feeding back after a consultation: this guide was written about Citizen Space, but contains good advice and formatting ideas for anyone working in public participation.
  • 3. In this interview, Lucy Rumble from Warwickshire County Council talks about the council’s robust and well-organised feedback process, and how it’s fed into increased trust and accountability of the organisation.
  • 4. There’s a knack to creating a good, comprehensive feedback or outcome report. We’ve seen a lot of reports, so we’ve got a good idea of what works and what doesn’t. Here are Delib’s 10 tips for producing a great consultation report.
  • 5. This helpful article from The Consultation Institute explains the difference between output (who said what) and outcome (what actions were taken as a result) reports, and an example of when an output report can be useful.
